Amazing that over 365 days have passed since Erin was born.  She is a joy to be with and so much fun!  Look forward to the coming year!

Hard to believe that over 7 months have passed!  Two teeth, lovin' solids, and sitting up so well.  Good times Smile

    Happy New Year!

This year we celebrated New Year's on EST time!  The bottle of bubbly was opened at about 8:50 and we were in bed about 11:15 after we had the last drop!  2007 was an amazing year of high's (a healthy daughter) and some lows (sleep deprivation is not fun). The coming year will be a lot of traveling (Maui, Chicago, Oregon, Vegas) and more fun times with our family.

    Christmas

This year was so different without Chris and Shane and being away from the family but we had a good time being at home.  Kevin cooked an amazing turkey dinner and we enjoyed being with the grandparents and checking out her new toys, books, and clothes.  It was so magical to see it snow on xmas!

    Thanksgiving

Erin's first Thanksgiving was great!  Her Aunt Darlene, Uncle John, and Cousin Cindy came all the way from Chicago to celebrate Turkey Day with us and beat me at Scrabble!  Despite a cold, she still was able to try some rice cereal for the first time on Thanksgiving.  Apparently half the family are Cubs fans and the other half White Sox so that was a little controversy :-)  Last but not least she spent her first night at Mimi and Papa's!

    Halloween!

We had a great "first" Halloween with Erin!  Both Dad and Daughter had their bear costumes on and we enjoyed visiting with neighbors and of course heading to Grandma and Grandpas.  I felt really lucky to have such wonderful neighbors that will look forward to seeing her each year!

    11 weeks and counting

Erin is 11 weeks old!  Time flies when you are feeding, pooping, and sleeping the day away.  She is now smiling and cooing!

    Erin Kaida Rio is here!

Weighing in at 6 pounds, 8 ounces and 19 inches long, she came to our family on the 16th one week before her due date.  Healthy and loves to sleep all day and party all day night!  We are so happy to have her home and with us!

    Fourth of July

Chris, Shane, Phil, and Rayah came up to help with the bathroom remodel.  We all went to our neighborhood parade. Was really fun to walk Rayah down the block and chow down on grub before we had to head back to the construction zone!

    Yakima Barrel Winetasting 2006

14 wineries in one day...seem impossible?  Not with Tom and Yo as the tourguides!  Tom even brought his own vintage stash which we gave out samples to bicyclists and other innocent bystanders!  Ran into Shane's family at their winery which was great!  See you next year!  Same time same place!

    Chong's Birthday

So fun...we had a mexican theme party complete with pinata.  Needless to say the pinata did not stand a chance!

    Mother's Day

Whew!  Had the Rio party in the morning and the McGrann party in the evening.  Whipped out my fancy mixer to make my first coffee cake from scratch.  Kevin cooked his famous Chicken Pierre (Chris and Shane's fav).

    Rayah's first vegetable...green beans!

I was lucky to be down at Phil and Wendy's to experience a momentous occasion...Rayah's first veggies!  At first she had a look of total disgust but in gave way to Wendy not being able to shovel it in fast enough!  She is a good eater and it was fun to see the green goo all over the place.

    Hawaii 2006

Returned a week ago from a week in Maui with Kevin, my parents, and my Aunt Sherry and Uncle Phil.  Lots of laughs and good times!  Highlights were definitely the luau, dancing on the beach, whale-watching, swimming, and of course doing the road to hana in a downpour of rain.

    Return to the 80's

The big 3-0 has arrived and we did it in style!  My friend since kindergarden Leslie and I threw a 80's theme party and it was well...rockin!  Lots of singin and laughs!  I am so lucky to have such a great group of girlfriends...not to mention a husband that looks awesome in his mullet wig!

    Thinking about Grandma...

Sending my thoughts and prayers for Grandma Rita tonight...

    Remembering Emily

Laughter...beautiful skin...infectious smile.  Always wanting to tell a funny story or be in on a funny story (usually about one of our beloved relatives).  Simply bubbling with live.  I don't think our family would be as close as we are today without her.  Live everyday and never miss an opportunity to make someone smile and better yet...laugh.

The night before our niece comes

Tomorrow Wendy will be induced at Good Sam down south.  We are so excited and this week has dragged as we approach Sept. 15th.  Mom and Dad are flying in from Alaska and Chris and Shane are pulling in from Reno tonight.  Unbelievable to think that 9 months has already passed.  We are all anxious to see what she looks like!  I had a dream on Monday night that they unexpectedly had twins and they gave me the other one.  I remember being so happy in the dream and thinking "man that is really generous of them!"
